About a month ago I saw this site called DESK and was blown away by the idea and beautiful design and animation. I also just realised that the guy who made it Jongmin Kim also made an iPad and iPhone version. Now this really blew me away!

Cat Power (my all time favorite indie chick) is apparently working on a brand new album of original material due out sometime in 2012. To keep all her fan’s mouths watering she has released this video of Manny Pacquiao punching a speed ball to a re worked version of “Kings Ride By” from her 1996 album “what would the community think”.

Cat Power AKA Chan Marshall has an extraordinary ability to take an existing track and totally own it or “re make it”. I’m not sure if this new addition will be included on the up coming album, but I’m really looking forward to its release if this track is any indication of her new direction.

I have been listening to a lot of new music this week and its easy to just get overwhelmed when trying to take a lot of music in at once, so it takes something special to really stand out. This track by Peaking Lights “Tiger Eyes (Laid Back)” immediately jumped out at me and is getting better with every listen.
